Robin Carney, Director of Religious Education, Grades K-4 and First Communion Preparation, St. Ambrose Parish, Albion
If elementary faith formation was all about crafts and coloring for an hour on Sunday morning wouldn’t it be easier to get them there and to get them to keep coming back? Ah, if only! But, what is the road that we travel between the first year of Sacrament preparation in Grade 1 and First Communion Day? And, what happens after First Communion Day? Let’s take a look at the basics of sacrament preparation. The what-to-dos, the how-to-do-its, and maybe even a few crafty ideas. And then, let’s chat about the invitation to the Lord’s table and the hope that they stay for more than their first communion.
