Wendy Rodriguez Mejia, Director of Multicultural Ministry of the Archdiocese of Boston
Esta presentación explora estrategias para evangelizar eficazmente a los jóvenes. El objetivo es inspirar y guiar a los jóvenes en su viaje espiritual para tener un encuentro personal y convertirse en seguidores (discípulos) dedicados de Jesucristo.
Wendy Rodriguez Mejia Born in El Salvador, Wendy came to the United States when she was three years old, and ever since then, she has called Massachusetts her home. She is the oldest of five children of Ana Maria and Efren Rodriguez. Raised in a Catholic family, Wendy dedicated her teenage years to youth ministry at her parish of St. Mary of the Annunciation in Cambridge, Massachusetts. There, she served as a catechist, contributed to the word ministry of the parish's Charismatic Renewal prayer group, and worked in the youth ministry, leading several initiatives to promote youth leadership, artistic talent, and spiritual life. At the archdiocesan level, Wendy was part of the evangelization team for JCA - Jóvenes Católicos en Acción (Catholic Youth in Action), dedicated to youth ministry and servicing several youth groups throughout the Archdiocese of Boston. As part of JCA, Wendy had the wonderful opportunity to carry out missionary work and travel to several impoverished regions of the Dominican Republic to evangelize and provide resources to communities and families in need. Her dedication to Catholic youth earned her an award for Excellent Achievements as Youth Coordinator of the Year by JCA PAULIST/H.E.L.P. After completing her high school education, Wendy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Northeastern University in Boston and later pursued a career in public relations. Today, Wendy has more than 15 years of experience in public relations and implementing marketing initiatives encompassing press relations, special events, and video production. This past December, Wendy was appointed Director of Multicultural Ministries for the Archdiocese of Boston. Today, Wendy continues to serve as an active member of St. Mary of the Annunciation in Cambridge, Massachusetts, along with her husband, Deacon Franklin Mejia, and their two children, 20-year-old Gabriel and 16-year-old Isabella. In November 2017, Cardinal Sean O'Malley of the Archdiocese of Boston awarded Wendy the Cheverus medal for her service to the Church.
